Q. I removed a spyware program called "newdotnet" from my pc and now I cannot connect to the internet. How do I restore internet access?
A. The Newdotnet program attaches itself to the winsock file within Windows and once newdotnet is deleted, your Internet connection may no longer work. This means that your winsock file must be restored. To do this, you must go to another computer with Internet access and download the WinsockXP fix at www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html to a floppy, flash drive or CD and then run the program on the affected PC. This will rebuild the winsock file and restore your internet connection.
